Ephemeral
CHOCOLATE BODY SCULPTURES
Chocolate Body Paintings by Gerhard Petzl are ephemeral sculptural works created directly on the human body with liquid chocolate.
Within a single hour, the model becomes a temporary living sculpture — fragile, intimate and impossible to repeat. Each ornament, line and pattern is applied by hand, transforming chocolate into a medium of performance, body, temperature and time.
The work explores the vulnerability of the human body, the sensuality of chocolate and the fleeting nature of artistic expression.
1-Hour Sculptures
Because chocolate reacts immediately to body temperature, movement and time, each work exists only briefly. These chocolate body paintings are not decorative applications, but temporary sculptural performances.
The process requires stillness, trust and precision. Every breath, movement and temperature change becomes part of the artwork.
“A fragile moment preserved in chocolate.”
